Our jumpers, produced in editions of 100, will be appointments. And our meetings will be the culmination of this story that’s just beginning and of our ambition that it’s still possible to change fashion and our lifestyles.
Our story
La Mécanique Du Pull is a story of family, encounters and friendship.
Grandpa, a trained mechanic, had set up his looms in the Passage Vendôme, a stone’s throw from the Place de la République.
At the same time, Valérie was making her first creations behind her next-door neighbour’s sewing machine. She bought her first balls of wool at the Monop in Chaville and knitted her first ‘T’ jumper in blue-white-red striped moss stitch, a sign…
When the family workshop closed, we had to find new weaving machines. And it was in Clamart, with families of Armenian origin, that I learned how to make a good Turkish coffee and what would later become my trade.
“There are few things more ambitious and exciting than doing what you love”.
Valérie followed her passionate path, and after the École Duperré she worked with some of the big names in ready-to-wear.
In the end, each of us produced our own designs in the Paris region, without any ‘Made in France’ label to show for it. Until the day when it was no longer possible to produce in France.
And it was in Morocco, in Casablanca, around new weaving machines that we met Valérie. Mint tea replaced Turkish coffee and we began to weave jumpers and forge strong links with this country.
Today we both cast anchor in another passageway, not far from the Place de la République.

Over the last 10 years we have produced 3,000,000 jumpers for French and international brands.
As the 3rd generation of jumper manufacturers, we have seen this market evolve over 5 decades, reaching its peak in Fast Fashion. With nature deteriorating at an unprecedented rate, awareness is growing globally and accelerating.
Through La Mécanique Du Pull we wanted to take action by providing our own answers to these challenges. By opting for carefully considered, small-scale production, we can guarantee the traceability of our materials, the durability of our designs and offer you an alternative response to the standardisation of styles.
Jumpers as jewellery
Jumpers have a special place among clothes. You wrap yourself in a jumper, you touch it, you caress it, you look for softness and comfort. So we wanted them to regain their value in our eyes and in yours. That’s why we’ve designed it as a piece of jewellery, with a numbered clip gilded in fine gold in the Paris region.
It’s a piece of jewellery to remind you of the history of the men and women whose experience helped make it a collector’s item.
